The disorder leads to poor attention. You may find yourself messing updates, low concentration when reading, you rush things, and you make simple errors.
You will easily get distracted because of low concentration. Notice if it is difficult for you to concentrate while doing long, complex tasks even if they are leisure activities. You may find yourself engaged in several tasks, but you never complete any of the tasks because they get you confused since you never planned to multitask, but you got distracted.
Someone who has low concentration and gets easily distracted is also a poor listener. Your mind wanders away when someone is talking to you not because you are doing something else like playing with your phone.
ADD causes forgetfulness. If you often forget your next sentences, you should not assume that you are alright. The person can forget dates, names, appointments, buy something twice because he or she forgot that there is another one and more.
It becomes challenging for you to follow simple instructions. You cannot follow a schedule, routine, plans, use a recipe correctly, use a manual, use the tracking system or a locator and more things that offer guidelines. You prefer to jump into tasks and create shortcuts as you please so that you can complete the task early.
You leave tasks to pile until the deadlines are fast approaching for you to do them hence your life is a total mess almost all the time. No one accepts to team up with you whether at home or at work because they fear to do part of your work or you will make them fail because of your disorganization.
You are full of excuses when you are assigned tasks that need o much metal effort because only special motivation can help you do them. You are always protecting your mind from mental exhaustion; therefore, you never do any task that exhaust your mind.
